Stockdale's Return to Much More Than a New Home
When the Stockdale family returned to Middleton on July 18 not only did they find a brand new home built specifically for them, but they also came home to an incredibly supportive and generous community.
It was announced to the family on Thursday, July 19 that local businesses and community members donated a total of $57,000 in cash donations and other items to help the Stockdale family with their medical and household needs. Below is re-cap of just some of the donations announced to the family:
Washington Trust Bank - $10,000 cash donation
Idaho Potato Commission - $10,000 cash donation
Becky Abbott & the Middleton Community - $17,000 cash donation from proceeds of the Family Hoe Down
CBH Homes - $20,000 cash donation from the sales of the "Live Large. Give Large." wristbands and online donations
Dennis Dillon Auto - brand new mini-van
Boise State University - scholarship to cover tuition, books and fees for Ryan for as long as he is a Bronco
Albertson College - half-tuition scholarships for each of the four children for four years
Senator John McGee of Caldwell also announced that Governor Butch Otter has, in honor of the family, proclaimed July 18, 2007 as The Stockdale Family Day in Idaho.
